Client seeks assistance in landlord/tenant matter. The eviction complaint seeks rent from August 2018 (partial) through October 2018, a water bill, and unpaid security deposit. Client and her young son both live in the property. Client states there is an insect infestation that has caused both of them to have to sleep in the living room. Landlord has continually harassed the client and Landlord has entered the apartment without warning or permission and client has had to call the police at least once. Defenses include no valid Certificate of Rental suitability for August 2018, no lead safe certificate on file and a breach of the implied warranty of habitability. Client hopes to negotiate back rent owed and have time to move. A hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 22, 2018, at 8:45 am in Room 3. Landlord is unrepresented.
