Client seeks representation for a custody hearing involving her 4 and 5-year-old daughters. The current custody order, from May 2018, gives client primary physical custody and sole legal custody. The children’s father has partial physical custody as agreed between the two parties. Father’s visits are sporadic and unpredictable. He attempts to visit the children at random times of the day or week, coinciding with client’s work schedule . Client is also uncomfortable with the children staying at father’s house because of his drug use. Due to father’s irregular visits, and his involvement with drugs, client feels that it is impossible to properly co-parent the children. Father recently filed a petition to modify custody. Client wishes to keep the custody order the same, but she is open to the possibility of father having supervised visits. A volunteer is needed to represent client at her hearing, which will be rescheduled once the court reopens.Client understands that representation may be limited to the upcoming court dates, and she is willing to sign a pro se entry of appearance when the agreed upon representation is complete.
