Client seeks representation for a custody hearing initially scheduled for June 22, 2020, at 1:30 pm before Judge Diane Thompson concerning her 12-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son. The matter will be rescheduled due to recent court closures. The current custody order, from February 2020, gives client primary physical custody, while the children’s father has custody from Thursday afternoons until Sunday evening each week. The parties share legal custody. The parties have been following the custody order, however, the father has been picking up the children from client’s home instead of school, because schools are currently closed. In August 2019, father, who is represented, filed a petition to modify the current custody order seeking primary physical custody of the two children. Client would like to keep the current order in place. Her goal is for the father to have the children every other weekend. A volunteer is needed to represent client at the upcoming hearing. Client understands that representation may be limited to the upcoming court dates, and she is willing to sign a pro se entry of appearance when the agreed upon representation is complete.
