Case #20-0045925

Client is being sued in the Court of Common Pleas for a collections matter. Client hired a contractor through Home Depot to resurface her kitchen cabinets in 2015. She paid for this work on her Home Depot credit card. The work began to deteriorate after three months, despite costing over $10,000. In 2016, client suffered an injury and was no longer able to work. Her income was significantly reduced as a result, and she could not afford to continue making payments on this credit card. Client is now being sued for over $14,000. Client would like to contest the amount due because of the shoddy work performed but understands she may need to enter into a payment plan. VIP has secured an extension to respond to the complaint. A volunteer is needed to represent client in this matter, including responding to the complaint and representing client at the arbitration, which has not yet been scheduled.
