Disabled client seeks representation for a semi-protracted custody hearing regarding her 13-year-old daughter, scheduled for October 24, 2022 at 9:00 am before Judge Palmer. Opposing party is the child’s father. Per a September 2019 order, Client has primary physical custody and Father has partial physical custody; they share legal custody. The parties have not followed the order due to Child’s preferences. In May 2019, Client filed for sole legal custody because Father actively keeps child from attending Child’s therapy. Father filed a petition for contempt claiming that Client isn’t complying with the 2019 order. In 2020, Client and Father were ordered to undergo mental health evaluations. There is an ongoing DHS investigation related to Child’s inappropriate use of technology. In May 2022, due to physical altercations between Child and Client, Father filed a PFA on behalf of the child against Client. A temporary order was granted May 18, 2022. The final PFA hearing is scheduled for August 23, 2022. A volunteer is needed to represent Client at her upcoming custody hearing.
