Client seeks representation at a custody hearing on August 24, 2022 at 9:00 AM before Judge Holly Ford, regarding her 16- and 10-year-old sons. Opposing party is the children’s father. A temporary order was issued in April 2022, giving primary physical and sole legal custody to Father. Client filed a petition for reconsideration, which was denied. The children live with Client and she supports them financially, entirely on her own. Despite the custody order, Father has not come to pick the children up. Client believes he filed for custody in order to avoid paying child support. Client alleges that Father is physically abusive and has threatened her with a gun. Her oldest son was diagnosed with schizophrenia and briefly lived with Father. During this time, Client alleges Father did not bring him to his required outpatient therapy or to school. A volunteer is needed represent client at her upcoming custody hearing.
