Case #22-0048277

Client seeks representation for her custody contempt hearing on December 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM before Judge Betsy Wahl, regarding her four children. Opposing party is the children’s father. An August 2022 custody order granted Client primary physical custody and granted partial physical custody to Father; the parties share legal custody. On September 4, 2022, Father hit and shoved their fifteen-year-old daughter. A week later, he filed a contempt of custody petition, alleging that Client was not abiding by the August order; a contempt hearing was scheduled for December. In October, on behalf of Daughter, Client obtained a temporary Protection from Abuse (PFA) order; subsequently a temporary custody order was issued suspending Father’s custody of Daughter. Client is concerned about the children continuing to have unsupervised overnights with Father given his history of physical abuse and anger issues. Client says the children are afraid of Father and don’t want to go to his house. Ideally, Client would like the contempt petition dismissed and to amend Father’s physical custody to supervised visits until he can better control his anger. A volunteer is needed to represent Client at the hearing.
