Case #22-0048395

Client seeks representation for a collections matter. Arbitration is scheduled for November 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Court of Common Pleas. She has been sued by Einstein Medical Center for $26,392 following treatment she received for a heart attack in October 2018. While she was in the hospital, she applied for Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities (MAWD) and was approved in November 2018. Einstein told her that the bill was covered, but in 2020, they sent her a bill for $24,000. Client was never evaluated by the hospital for charity care. She initially tried to set up a payment plan, but due to the pandemic, her hours were cut and she couldn’t afford the bill. Client’s goal is to get the debt waived, but she is open to entering an affordable payment arrangement on a reduced amount. Client was served on January 29, 2022 and submitted a response to the complaint on July 21, 2022. A volunteer is needed to represent her at arbitration.
