Case #22-0048481

Client seeks representation at an eviction hearing scheduled for August 15, 2022, at 8:45am in Municipal Court. Client moved into the property with her son in March 2014. Landlord is suing for June-July 2022 rent, late fee, water bill, attorney fees, court costs, and ongoing rent from date of filing. Client pays her rent by automatic payment in weekly increments and made lump payments in June and August for which she has receipts. Client believes she should be paid up through September 2022 rent, and should only owe the water bill, if anything. Landlord already took out court costs from her account. Defenses include receipts for payments toward balance, possible lack of water bills, and possible lack of good cause reason to terminate short-term lease. Landlord is represented by Jacob Wasser-Segal, Esq.
