Case #22-0048533

Client seeks representation for her custody hearings on November 7 and 8, 2022, both at 9:00 AM, regarding her 15-year-old son. Opposing party is the child’s father. A custody order from 2014 granted Father primary physical custody, and Client liberal partial physical custody; parties share legal custody. Client has been involved in her son’s life since his birth and provided for him financially. In March 2022, Child came to school with bruises which he alleged were from Father hitting him with a baseball bat and grabbing his neck. The school called DHS, who placed Child in Client’s care. The November 7 hearing pertains to a petition to modify filed by Father on July 19. The November 8 hearing pertains to a petition for sole physical and sole legal custody filed by Client on July 20. Client also filed for a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order on behalf of Child; a temporary order was granted in August 2022. Client alleges that Father has a drinking problem and has been neglectful of son’s medical needs. A volunteer is needed to represent Client at the hearings.
