Friendly client would like title to his home of 14 years through a quiet title action based on adverse possession. Client entered a month-to-month lease agreement in November of 2008. Around the beginning of 2011, deceased landlord’s attorney reached out to client to offer client to buy the house from landlord’s estate. Client could not afford to buy the house at this time; however, he also stopped paying rent. Client started paying real estate taxes in 2017, and has been maintaining the property exclusively since 2011. Client needs title to his home to apply to grant programs to make repairs on his house. VIP has found a last known address for the Administrator of deceased record owner’s estate. A volunteer is needed to assist client to file a quiet title action against the heirs of record owner’s estate based on adverse possession and represent him throughout the case.
