Case #23-0049753

Client purchased her home in 2007, has paid in full, and now needs assistance to remove the promissory note, which was recorded. She financed the home through a mortgage, but unexpected costs arose, and the grantor lent her $15,000, recording a “deed of trust” securing the debt against the property. The client paid the loan back in cash shortly after, and received paper receipts. Unfortunately, the receipts are now lost. The grantor has since died and his wife has been appointed to administer his estate. Client is looking to refinance her existing mortgage but is unable to until the “deed of trust” has been marked satisfied. Client filed a quiet title action against the estate of the grantor. A volunteer is needed to assist client in litigating the quiet title action and have the “deed of trust” marked satisfied.
