Client’s mother passed in 2009, and Client probated the estate and got title to the home in 2013. In 2014, a 40-year modification was approved under the name of the estate. In 2019, Client fell behind on the mortgage and began to negotiate with the lender. Without Client’s knowledge, the account was transferred to a different lender, which demanded payments that Client could not afford. Client is working with a housing counselor to get a new loan modification and a volunteer is needed to represent Client on the legal issues that come up throughout the Diversion program process.
