Case #23-0050580

Torts (1-hour consultation): Client is a small, Black-owned dog grooming service in South Philadelphia. Recently, there was an incident with one of the dogs during grooming which resulted in the dog’s paw later being amputated. The dog owner is seeking compensation for the amputation, despite having signed an agreement stating that client is not responsible for accidents or injuries. Client’s insurance policy had non-renewed during the time of the incident, so insurance coverage is not an option. Client is seeking counsel and advice from an attorney about its legal responsibility to compensate the dog owner, as well as steps client can take to ensure this situation does not reoccur. This is a limited, one-hour consultation opportunity. VIP find another volunteer to provide additional assistance, if necessary.
