Case #23-0050707

Urgent

Client is facing a custody hearing on December 7, 2023, at 9:00 am before Judge Elizabeth Jackson, regarding her 5-year-old daughter. Opposing party is the child’s father. Client filed a complaint for custody in February 2023 because she alleges that Father does not take care of their daughter and that she must “coach” Father on how to parent their child. A March 2023 temporary order granted Client and Father shared legal and physical custody. Client alleges that Father does not take the child to the doctor when necessary and does not take care of her personal hygiene. Most recently, Client alleges that while visiting with Father the child broke out with a high fever. Father took child to daycare rather than taking her to the hospital and the child was subsequently dismissed because she was too sick. Father brought the child home without seeking medical treatment. Client’s goal is to obtain sole legal and primary physical custody of the child. A volunteer is needed to represent Client at the upcoming hearing.
