There is no charge to the volunteer for the training program or training materials. Volunteers who participate must meet all of other requirements of the CLE Board.
VIP Cases: Volunteers will be credited 1 CLE credit for each hour of coursework attended. Additionally, there is no limit on credits obtained annually through VIP. To receive credit, a volunteer must take a case within six months of the training session. Volunteers will be expected to handle one case for the total completion of each CLE course they attend. If the client withdraws or if it is determined that the case is not meritorious, another case will be referred to the volunteer. A signed representation agreement must be received in the VIP office for the CLE agreement to be considered fulfilled. VIP submits credits to the CLE board within two weeks of the training date. However, if a volunteer does not take a case within six months, the credit is revoked.
Mortgage Foreclosure Conciliation Conference Policy: Volunteers will be credited 1 CLE credit for each hour of course work attended. Credits are awarded after a volunteer attends a VIP training session, but can be withdrawn if a volunteer does not represent 3 different clients as a temporary solution or as an emergency volunteer; does not volunteer as an on-call attorney during 3 conciliation conference half-day sessions; or does not satisfy some combination of the two options. Conference attendees must volunteer for this project within six months of the training session.
