Signature Events

Awards Ceremony

Every year, Philadelphia VIP hosts an annual Awards Ceremony to honor dedicated volunteer attorneys and supporters and to say thank you for going above and beyond for their clients. This free annual event awards new volunteers, veteran volunteers, firms, corporations, and solo practitioners for providing access to justice for all Philadelphians.

Summer Pro Bono Program

For Law Students

In the summer, Philadelphia VIP holds a Summer Pro Bono Program to educate law students about the critical legal needs of low-income Philadelphians. Participants discuss the importance of pro bono service with judges from the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Bar Association leadership, and VIP Board Members. Students also hear directly from clients and their volunteer attorneys, and learn about poverty in Philadelphia.

A Taste for Justice

A Taste for Justice is VIP’s signature fundraising event featuring a signature food and alcohol pairing, a silent auction, and a guest chef demonstration. This special event brings VIP supporters together and provides a special night of fun and entertainment.

Pro Bono Opportunities Day

Navigating Ethical Issues In Pro Bono

As part of National Pro Bono Week, Philadelphia VIP partners with the Philadelphia Bar Association for this annual CLE training event. Volunteer attorneys learn how to navigate the ethics of pro bono service and the impact that pro bono has on low-income Philadelphians with critical legal needs. Attorneys are asked to participate and will receive free CLE Ethics credits for taking any case with VIP within 6 months of the training.

Please check our Events Calendar for more information and for upcoming registration in the fall.

Corporate Pro Bono Day

VIP’s annual Corporate Pro Bono Day takes place in the fall and provides a free CLE seminar on the corporate formation of micro-enterprises. As a part of VIP’s LawWorks program, volunteer attorneys then participate in a clinic to provide free legal advice to Philadelphia micro-entrepreneurs.
