This month, VIP said farewell to Todd Nothstein, VIP’s Family Law Staff Attorney since 2017. Todd will join Legal Clinic for the Disabled as a Staff Attorney in their medical-legal partnership. In this role, he will work with a team to address medical, social, and legal problems for disabled clients at a single site of care.
VIP’s team, and doubtless many of our volunteers, thanks Todd for his years of work supporting low-income Philadelphians with family law matters and the volunteer lawyers who represent them.
Todd shared this about his time with VIP:
I fell in love with VIP as a landlord/tenant volunteer while taking time off from work in the wake of a challenging illness. I got to know the inspiring, hard-working staff, and VIP’s model came to make sense to me.
When VIP advertised a job opportunity for a staff attorney focused on family law, I wondered if they would take a chance on me. I was new to family law, but eager to learn, and passionate about helping low-income Philadelphians.
VIP invested in me. In addition to committed coworkers and a mission-driven work environment, VIP gave me the resources and space I needed to grow into a family law attorney. I have often told volunteers this was my dream job, and this remained true every day of my tenure here. It is with mixed emotions that I move onto my new role at LCD, where I will continue to help vulnerable clients get the legal help they need.
Todd will remain an active presence in Philadelphia’s family law bar, and has promised not to be a stranger. We wish him all the best.
