Philadelphia is seeing a surge of low-income custody litigants in need of free legal representation, and VIP volunteers are among the only people who can help.
Every day, custody litigants who can’t afford a lawyer struggle to properly present evidence and make themselves heard in court. This summer, as pandemic restrictions are lifted and long-delayed court dates are scheduled, VIP is seeing a surge in custody clients in need of a volunteer attorney.
Please join VIP Staff Attorney Todd Nothstein and VIP volunteer Sarah Katz of Temple University’s Beasley School of Law for an introductory overview of custody practice in Philadelphia. This training aims to help attorneys feel comfortable and energized to volunteer on VIP custody cases. If you have never taken a custody case, but you are interested in helping Philadelphia families navigate these tough decisions, this is the training for you.
This training will take place via Zoom. Please RSVP below for the Zoom meeting information.
