Please join VIP, Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, and HopePHL for a two-part, in-person estate planning training and clinic for low-income Philly homeowners.
The event will be held at Rowan House (325 N 39th St, Philadelphia PA 19104) on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, July 20 from 5:00-8:00 pm.
The first event will feature a brief estate planning training for volunteers. After that, you’ll meet your client and get a sense of their wishes for their estate plan. Clients may need wills, powers of attorney, and/or advance healthcare directives.
In between the clinic events, you will have time to draft the documents using VIP’s training resources. This time will also give clients a chance to consult with family members and be sure of their decisions.
At the second meeting, you’ll meet your client again to execute the estate planning documents in front of a notary and witnesses.
Volunteers should be sure they can commit to both meetings. Attorneys and other legal volunteers are welcome, but non-attorneys must bring a Pennsylvania attorney who will supervise their work. Please RSVP below or email Vijaya Singh with questions.
Note: This page is for legal volunteers only. If you need free estate planning services for yourself, please apply here.
