Estate Planning to Preserve Family Wealth

Where there's a will, there's a way

Making a will can ensure one’s family home stays in the family and prevent a tangled title that costs thousands to resolve. Other estate planning documents help a person manage their affairs and ensure their wishes are followed at the end of their life.

For our low-income Philadelphia neighbors, the cost of hiring an attorney puts these documents out of reach. Join us to learn how pro bono volunteers can help.

Please join Philadelphia VIP on February 14th from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm for an estate planning training that will cover the basics of simple wills, powers of attorney, and advanced healthcare directives.

This free training will be led by Don DiCarlo of Wilmington Trust and Lindsay Schoonmaker, Supervising Attorney at Philadelphia VIP, and will be held virtually.

Non-attorney volunteers, like paralegals, can easily sign up to work on estate planning cases, provided that a PA-barred attorney supervises them. If you are a paralegal, we hope you’ll join us for this training!

We encourage you to sign up for a VIP estate planning case before the training so you can follow along with your case file in hand. View all available cases here.

Register for the Zoom event below. Email Lindsay Schoonmaker with questions.
