Promoting community economic development is one of VIP’s core priorities, and Philadelphia’s small businesses and nonprofits are critical players in that mission. We offer free legal assistance to eligible small businesses and nonprofits to help them achieve their goals with safety and security.
VIP accepts direct applications for legal assistance from small businesses and nonprofits.
Except for matters involving wills and estate planning, VIP only accepts individual clients through other legal services organizations, meaning people cannot apply directly to VIP for legal assistance. If you are an individual who would like assistance with estate planning, please visit our wills and estate planning initiative page.
For other legal issues, your first step in seeking legal help is to contact one of our partner organizations. A team member (usually a paralegal or lawyer) will speak to you about your legal needs and the options available to you. If your case is eligible for assistance from VIP, your case file will be sent to us and we will contact you.
